A really interesting mix of music today, from narrated music for ‘young people’ to some classic Blur.
- Benjamin Britten, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, op. 34 // Great piece, with or without narration
- Johannes Brahms, Clarinet Trio in A minor, op. 114 // Just an amazing piece of music, especially the last movement, and some great instrumental writing. This is one of four pieces for clarinet Brahms wrote near the end of his life, which are also his last group of chamber works, the others being the Clarinet Quintet op. 115, and the two Clarinet Sonatas op. 120 (although these are also for viola).
- Orlando Gibbons, Short Service // Really solid piece, I always remember the bass part around b.32 of the Magnificat.
- Count Basie and his Orchestra, Corner Pocket
- Blur, Song 2
